Walkover stares at Jayalalithaa: Superwoman vs minnows in Chennai bypoll battle

Chennai: Traffic in R.K. Nagar is prone to halt for close to an hour at a time. But a superwoman is expected to be unstoppable in Saturday's unequal by-election battle in the north Chennai constituency.   With all the probable challengers having run away, chief minister Jayalalithaa is pitted against a 62-year-old debutant and a corruption crusader who has lost his deposit every time so far.   The streets of R.K. Nagar reflect this reality. "If you elect Amma, you will not have to wait at level crossings for hours. Brand new flyovers will be built in no time," an AIADMK worker announces from an auto-rickshaw.   R.K.
